The reasons for Arab-Israeli conflict is the occupation of Palestine in 1948.

Would that be the Red Sea? You may want to try something else–I hear they’ve got protection.

But seriously, Jerusalem has been around in one form or another for quite a long time. Currently it is under the control of the Israeli state and looks to remain under their control for the foreseeable future, so I’d have to say that it’s a Jewish city if anything.

The point of the original post is that until such time as both sides want to negotiate peace nothing the U.S. says or does means squat. For a couple of ancient civilizations both the Isaraelis and the Palestinians have a lot of growing up to do.
